Drum & Bass Dance & Fitness Class

Welcome to Perth’s Drum & Bass Dance and Fitness Class! 

This class aims to help you experience movement in a way that you enjoy, to music that you love and feel connected to. 

It’s an opportunity for us DnB fans to get together, get a bit of exercise, have fun, get some feel good hormones running through our bodies, and have a laugh.

 

A transformative exercise and dance experience designed to utilise the power of drum & bass music and movement to elevate your mood, improve physical fitness and enhance your overall well-being.

Absolutely EVERYONE is welcome! No matter your age, fitness level or perceived dance abilities (everyone can dance!). The moves are simple and you can take things at your own pace.

My hope is that you will leave class feeling more energised, more optimistic and more connected.

What to expect in class

Each class is a different experience but every class consists of the same three sections which include:

warm up

The class kicks off with a warm-up that syncs your body and mind to the pulsating tempo of drum & bass. 

Follow along with me as I take you through a sequence of simple dance and aerobic moves, inspired by various styles including hip-hop dance & body jam workouts.

This is a chance to get your body moving in whatever way feels good for you!

stretch

Next we slow things down a bit with a gentle full body stretch soundtracked with a nice liquid mix. 

Stretching your body can help relieve muscle tension and soreness, while also improving flexibility and mobility.

This is also a great opportunity to decompress, bring stress levels down and get you in a better frame of mind.

 

choreography

In the last section of class I’ll be teaching you a short and simple dance routine to a DnB track.

This is less about nailing the moves, and more about having fun while moving in sync with everyone else.

The added benefit of learning some choreography is it helps increase mental focus and create new neural pathways in the brain. So it’s great for both your body and brain!
